New School Performance Reports Released- Replace "Old" Report Cards
On April 10, the New Jersey Department of Education released the 2011-2012 School Performance Reports. These reports replace the “old” report card and provide more data than previously. The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has significantly revised the annual school report cards, required under both federal and state legislation. The new School Performance Reports are designed to enhance both educator and stakeholder engagement in discussions about how well a school is preparing their students for college and careers.
In particular, the new School Performance Reports seek to:
- Focus attention on metrics that are indicative of college and career readiness.
- Benchmark a school’s performance against other peer schools that are educating similar students, against statewide outcomes, and against state targets to illuminate and build upon a school’s strengths and identify areas for improvement.
- Improve educational outcomes for students by providing both longitudinal and growth data so that progress can be measured as part of an individual school’s efforts to engage in continuous improvement.” http://education.state.nj.us/pr/
The educational programs of the New Egypt Schools shall foster high expectations, in academics and behavior, giving attention to all students’ individual needs. We are resolved to ensure all students achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels. Children will be provided a variety of activities and experiences that allow them to mature into lifelong learners, who are critical thinkers, and who cooperate with others as they grow and learning our democratic society.
