At New Egypt High School we are taking a different approach. We are returning to the ideal that the ultimate goal of summer reading is to turn young people on to the joys of reading so that while they are, in fact, pre-empting the onset of the dreaded summer reading gap, they are doing something far more valuable: laying the foundation for becoming life-long readers.
Mr. Mosley, the high school principal, will continue his Roundtables this month. All parents from throughout the district are invited to attend these gatherings which highlight what's going on in the high school. It also allows for a lively discussion of educational issues and how they impact the students of New Egypt High School. All of the meetings start at 7 p.m. and are held in the IMC. We look forward to seeing you there.
A reminder to all parents who drop off or pick up students: No one is permitted to drive a vehicle or stop in the back parking lot or in the front of the high school building between 6:45 a.m. - 7:20 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. These areas are reserved for buses only. Please help us keep everyone safe by complying with this request. The designated drop off area is between the middle school and the high school.

Vote for our Rain Barrel!
Students in Mrs. Dancer’s class have created an amazing painted rain barrel in Art class that is part of the Barnegat Bay Rain Barrel Challenge. Their barrel follows the journey of a camel named Jerry who searches for clean water through the town of New Egypt, through the farms of Plumsted Township, into and around Colliers’ Mills and finally into the Barnegat Bay!
Voting is online and continues until May 1, 2015. Please vote and tell everyone that you know to vote. Use social media, tell your friends and neighbors. We really want to win a Barnegat Bay Festival for our school in June.
We are Barrel #7 on the site. Here is the link: http://www.nj.gov/dep/barnegatbay/rbcvote2015.htm
